I started going to rock concerts in 1983, when I was 13 years old. Through the years I have been able to see a ton of musicians I used to see on MTV as a kid. Due to my radio job, I've even been able to meet and interview some of them. One of the musicians I loved in the 80's but have never seen live is Billy Idol. Luckily, he's coming to the Carolinas this Saturday night!

Idol wasn't planning on coming to the Carolinas, but his show in Bristol, VA was cancelled, so he had a free date. This Saturday, April 29, Idol will be performing at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. According to Yahoo, the show is at 7:30 p.m.  Spartanburg is just over an hour away from Charlotte, about 45 minutes away from Gastonia. Not a long road trip to check out a rock icon!

If you want to go to the show, get your tickets now. The venue only holds 3, 244 people and the show will probably sell out quickly. You can buy tickets and get more information on the show here.

At 67 years old, Idol looks good! In 1990, Idol was in a motorcycle accident that almost killed him. For a while, the singer thought he might lose a leg due to the accident. Between that and his drug use, we're all lucky he's still around! So worth the road trip to check him out.

Although 'Rebel Yell' and 'White Wedding' are two of his biggest and best known songs, I always liked 'Cradle of Love'. Of course, I'm one of the only people that saw the movie 'The Adventures of Ford Fairlane' with Andrew Dice Clay in a movie theater. The song was featured in the movie. And the video on MTV was saucy!

She is always writing about random news stories that really make you wonder, “what in the world?!” She also writes about rock music and human-interest content.
