There's a lot to unpack in this story. I know I'm a bit of a bitch at times, but I'll tell ya right now if my husband said the things this guy said to his wife, he'd be booking a room at the Holiday Inn Extended Stay!

According to The Independent, a woman posted about her odd situation on Reddit, looking for advice. The 32-year-old woman is thinking about ending her 7-year marriage after giving birth to their first child three months ago. The husband is now saying the woman is responsible for the $8,000 hospital bill. He says his wife 'caved' after 24 hours of labor and received an epidural. The woman also had support services help her. She had nursery time, a lactation consultant, food, blood tests, and postpartum supplies.

Seems reasonable to most of us. Nothing about the woman's hospital stay is crazy. The husband says that she wanted 'luxury' and that she should pay for it. He went on to say that since she 'couldn't hold out for a few more hours and jacked up the bill with meds' that she should pay the bill. This guy had the audacity to say that since his wife wanted 'extras', she should pay for it.

The woman explains that they both work and that they've always split the bills 50/50. They keep their money separate except for a joint account for bills. The hospital bill would be one to come out of the joint account. She didn't make the baby solo!

Now, I recognize I have some anger issues and a bit of a temper. But I can tell you that if my husband said this to me right after giving birth, he'd need to run quickly. There's NO way a husband should say this to his wife. It's THEIR baby, not hers. And I am sure this dude won't help care for the child either. I mean, sleep for the new mommy is a 'luxury' right? Man this guy pisses me off!

And just when you think this dude can't say anything else insulting, he does. In the post, the woman said she was “stunned and flipped out” at her husband’s behavior, but that he “refused to budge”. He then referred to her as a “princess” for “expecting him to pay for all the “extra add ons” she asked for in the hospital. WTH?!

The couple has been together for 14 years but married for 7 years. In my gut I am sure that this man showed some 'red flags' before this. A screenshot of the woman's post is going viral on Twitter, and people are encouraging her to leave her husband. @thiscassgirl posted the Reddit post and people had feelings!

Both the husband and wife have good jobs and have 'high positions' within the companies that they work for, so money isn't the issue. It's more about the disrespect. For the husband to even have the gall to say such things to the mother of his child, says a lot about his character.

After the huge response to her post, the woman has given an update. She says that all their friends agree with her and that this situation has opened her eyes about who her husband really is. And she says she's been in contact with an attorney. I hope she divorces this dirtbag and he has to pay her alimony and child support. What a POS!
