Gaston County Animal Care And Enforcement Offering Summer Fun For Kids
Being a native to Gastonia, I love sharing fun things happening in my growing town. And I have a special place in my heart for the folks at Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement. They work tirelessly helping animals find forever homes. If I had a lot of land, I’d have more dogs to love! Unfortunately, I live in a small apartment, so Eddy and Kramer are all I can handle. If your kids love animals, they can take part in ‘Kids Kindness Camp’ this summer.
Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement is offering several sessions over the next few months for kids. They will be exploring the needs of shelter animals, learning about animals and their behaviors, and learning how to be an advocate for animals in our community. If your child loves animals, this will be a great experience for them.
I rescued Kramer from GCAC, and he is THE best dog! He’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever had. It breaks my heart seeing so many animals in need. I know right now the shelter is at capacity, so if you’re looking for a new furry friend, please consider adopting. You can see the animals up for adoption here.
Sessions begin on May 13, from noon-2 p.m. Spots are limited, so you’ll need to sign up to secure a spot for your child. All the youth programs are free, but the shelter does have a wish list if you’d like to help out.
If you’re interested in signing your child up for the ‘Kids Kindness Camp‘, you can do that here. And if you’d like to help make sure that these programs continue for free, you can check out the shelter’s wish list for youth programming here.
