Now this may be the kind of gym I need to join! No matter where you live, you're more than likely close to a Planet Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, or a YMCA. But if you're looking for a 'different' type of workout, this may be it! Halo Top Ice Cream is creating a new type of gym.

According to FoodBeast, Halo Top wants to change the idea that fitness is boring. They wanna switch things up a bit. So far, the 'un-gyms' are open in New York, and will soon open in Chicago, Phoenix, and Los Angels. At the new 'un-gyms' you'll be able to work through the 24 minute circuit. And the exercises are probably a bit different than what you're used to.

Activities include:

  • Running through the aisles of their pop-up market to shop for Halo Top instead of running on a treadmill.
  • Working up a sweat by having an ultimate pillow fight rather than punching a bag.
  • Taking a spin on the Halo Top mechanical bull instead of doing a cycling class.
  • Seeing how long you can hang from a basketball rim after dunking a Halo Top ball, rather than doing regular pull-ups.

All of those activities would get your heart rate up! The real upside about these 'un-gyms' is that after you sweat silly, you can score a free Halo Top ice cream. Yum!

My dad, who is 82 years-old, competes in powerlifting and eats very little. Eggs and protein shakes is his diet. He also eats Cool Whip and Halo Top Ice Cream. Both are put into his protein shake. He'll LOVE the idea of working out and eating ice cream.

If Halo Top needs an older spokesperson, I got em! My dad would jump at the chance. Hopefully, one of these 'un-gyms' will open in Charlotte.
