Man Catches Foul Ball Without Dropping Beer Or Baby
Some of the best highlights you’ll see at a baseball game don’t happen on the field. They happen in the stands. At the Los Angeles Dodgers game on Sunday, April 30th, Steve Pettit caught a foul ball one-handed while holding a beer in his other hand and his baby daughter in a carrier. He didn’t drop his beer or his baby.
Pettit later told NBC 4 in Los Angeles it was as if the ball came to his hand in slow motion. Fans around him in the stands applauded as he held the ball up in the air. The Dodgers also posted a photo of the proud dad with his baseball, beer, and baby on Twitter. The caption simply reads, “Dad power.”
Pettit’s wife, Misty, described the crowd’s reaction as “going wild.” Social media users praised the impressive catch, with one tweeting, “Dad power at Dodger Stadium is insane,” and another suggesting it should make the top 10 plays of the week.
The Dodgers went on to win the game 6-3 over the St. Louis Cardinals, but it was clear to anyone who saw it that Pettit won the day. The epic moment was captured and shared on the Dodgers’ Twitter account. In the video below, the announcer says, “Nice! A beverage, a baby and a baseball.”
