According to MSN, Peter Brennan, from Texas, was staying at the Hilton Downtown Nashville hotel in March for a work conference. Around 5 a.m. Brennan woke up and discovered a man sucking on his toes! WTH?! And not just any man, a man that worked at the hotel. David Neal, 52, was the manager of the hotel, and he let himself into Brennan's room. According to the Nashville Metropolitan Police, the manager cloned a key card in order to enter the guest's room.
When Brennan woke up and saw his toes in the man's mouth, he jumped out of bed, screaming. He asked the stranger who he was and why he was in his room. Neal, wearing his work uniform and his name tag, was talking but not really giving the guest answers to his questions.
Neal claimed he entered the room because he could smell smoke, but no other guests or hotel staff had reported smelling smoke that night. Police arrested him and he's charged with aggravated burglary and assault. Who the hell does something like this? And especially at a relatively nice hotel. UGH!
Since the incident, Brennan says he doesn't feel comfortable anywhere, even in his own home. I get it! I'm sure sleeping is difficult after something this strange and scary happens to you. Brennan is so shaken up over the bizarre incident that he's filing a lawsuit.
In my opinion, it would be in the best interest of the hotel chain and the former manager to settle this suit out of court. I can't imagine they'd want MORE publicity over an incident like this. If the lawsuit does go to court, I hope Brennan gets a substantial settlement!
