Alligator On Florida Beach Turns Out To Be Something Even More Impressive
Police officers were surprised by what they found when they were called to remove an alligator from a Florida beach. It happens in the South. We see all kinds of reptiles on the water and in the sand. A few years ago, I was staying in the Outer Banks town of Avon, North Carolina. While I was fishing on the Pamlico Sound, I saw a little head swimming toward me. It was a snake. I was done fishing for the day.
Occasionally, something larger will crawl up onto a beach, especially in Florida. According to UPI, police in Treasure Island, Florida responded to a report of a large alligator laying on the beach. When they arrived on the scene, officers discovered something else. It wasn’t a giant reptile at all; just an ultra-realistic sand sculpture. Phew!
The Treasure Island authorities posted a photo of the impressive artwork on Crikey! 🐊 Look at the size of that gator one of our TIPD officers tried rounding up on Treasure Island Beach last night!
Ok, it wasn’t a real gator, it was just a crafty crafted sand sculpture.

“Crikey! Look at the size of that gator one of our officers tried rounding up on Treasure Island Beach last night! Ok, it wasn’t a real gator, it was just a crafty crafted sand sculpture. Oh, that reminds us. We love the talented people creating works of art in the sand, but with it being turtle nesting season, remember to flatten sandcastles/sculptures before you leave. The sea turtles will thank you! “
Beachgoers are also discouraged from digging deep holes in the sand because someone could fall in and become seriously injured. What do you think is the bigger danger, a big hole or a startling sand gator?
