Fans of Conan O’Brien might have wondered what happened to the promise he made when he ended his TBS talk show in 2021. The comedian and talk show host promised viewers he would be making the move to HBO Max to host a weekly variety series. As 2021 turned into 2022 and now 2023, fans still had no sign of a new show. So much time has passed that HBO Max isn't even called that anymore. It's just Max. Nevertheless, it appears that Conan is finally coming back to TV.

According to Variety, Conan O’Brien and Max have confirmed the launch of “Conan O’Brien Must Go.” However, instead of the aforementioned variety show concept, the new show is an international travel series. O'Brien has some experience with something like this. Beginning in 2015, he hosted 13 travel specials called “Conan Without Borders” on TBS.

"Conan O'Brien Must Go" will follow Conan as he flies all over the world to meet up with people he encountered on his podcast, “Conan O’Brien Needs A Fan.” Whether they wanted him to do so or not. “My fans around the globe never asked me to visit them, so I did,” wrote O’Brien in a statement.

No premiere date for the new four-episode series has been announced yet, but we do have some early clips. From the teaser below, we see that Conan spent some time in Norway and Thailand.

Google Search Data Shows Top-5 Most Desired U.S. Travel Destinations

If you're making summer travel plans for your family, but are worried about running into big crowds, this may help. A recent study of Google searches shows the most desired travel destinations for Americans. Number 1 on the list is no surprise.

According to Family Destinations Guide, people searched for words associated with "Las Vegas" and "vacation" 1.9-million times in 2022. And why not? There's so much to see and do in and around Vegas, even if you're not into gambling.

All of the big Las Vegas casinos have other forms of entertainment, including plenty of kid-friendly options. Let's not forget those buffets either. Off the strip, you'll find golf, desert hiking, and even skiing within an hour of the city. If you time your trip right, you can catch a football game with the Raiders, hockey with the Golden Knights, a boxing or UFC event, or a NASCAR race.

New York City, another place with tons to see and do, ranked second on the list, with 1.4-million Google searches. People looking for some beach time searched Miami and San Diego. And Chicago rounded out the top five. I'm a little surprised that Orlando didn't show up with all its theme parks.

Phil Harris is 50% of "Phil & Mel in the Afternoon" on K104.7. He has been with the station since 2013 and on the air in Charlotte since 2000. Before coming to the Queen City, Phil worked for radio stations in Pittsburgh, Austin, and Seattle. In addition to the weekly "Throwback Threesome" music video feature, Phil writes about things that matter to Charlotte sports fans and pet owners. He happens to be both.
