Kit Kat Churro Is The Kind Of Sweetness We Need This Summer

Summer is just about here and, this year, we’re getting a special sweet treat to go with it. Food & Wine reports that Kit Kat has unveiled a new flavor for the summer of 2023 and it’s inspired by one of my favorite desserts. Get ready for Kit Kat Churro!

Kit Kat is known for coming up with creative new flavors, including Fruity Cereal, Blueberry Muffin, Birthday Cake, and Lemon Crisp. The iconic candy brand describes their latest addition as a “buttery churro-flavored creme with sugar” layered between those tasty Kit Kat wafers.

The new Churro flavor is supposed to evoke the nostalgia of childhood summers, according to Kit Kat brand manager Alex Herzog. She explains, “We hope that every bite of the buttery, churro flavor and familiar crispy crunch of our wafers unlocks memories of the delightful experience of enjoying freshly baked churros from the boardwalk stand, amusement park, or the local fair.”

Churros originated in Portugal and Spain. The sugary fried dough treat was already very popular in Latin America and the Philippines before gaining traction across the United States. One of the best ways to enjoy a churro is with a cup of coffee. Kit Kat bars go well with coffee, too, so this could be a match made in heaven.

Kit Kat Churro will be available across the country beginning June 6th, which also happens to be National Churro Day. You’ll be able to get the exciting new flavor in the standard size, king-size, and snack-size bars. But don’t wait! Unlike some of Kit Kat’s other flavors, these will only be around for a limited time.
