Fishing Vest Packing Hack Is Going Viral And Travelers Are Loving The Idea

Air travel now can be a pain. Forget about the crowds, the TSA, and the flight cancelations. The ding you get if you're bag weighs over a certain amount is crazy! Once I had a bag that weighed too much, so I took out some heavy shoes, put em on, and threw my lightweight sneakers into my bag. Lots of folks have tricks for traveling, but a woman on TikTok has come up with a brilliant idea.

TikToker @cheapholidayexpert has found a smart way to avoid extra baggage fees by wearing a fishing vest on her flight. Most fishing vests are covered in large pockets and folks are sticking their belongings into the numerous pockets.

According to MSN, a video from January shows @cheapholidayexpert fitting an array of items into the fishing vest she's wearing. You can see her put a portable speaker, deodorant, playing cards, bikini and a gym kit into the smaller pockets of the vest. The back of her vest has a large pocket on it, so she places her laptop into it.

Fishing vests on Amazon are anywhere from $20-$40, so not too pricey. And if you live around here, you probably know someone who has one so you don't have to purchase one. Most of the folks on TikTok who have tried the hack say that airport staff have no issue with the vests and that they had no problem going through security.

If you're traveling anytime soon, a few other travel hacks on TikTok are stuffing clothes into a travel neck pillow or layering additional clothes inside a coat to take with you on the plane. Obviously, not all hacks will roll with security. It depends on where you're traveling to and from, but you can always try!
