Millions of folks are traveling this weekend for the 4th of July, by car and by plane. If you're planning on staying local and have plans to have some cocktails in Charlotte, AAA is here to help you get home safely.

Last year, there were more than 10,000 drunk driving deaths in our country. AAA wants to help you this weekend if you're out having s drinks. According to WCCB, this is the 25th year The Auto Club Group is providing the 'Tow to Go' program. You can call and The Auto Club will send a tow truck to transport the driver and their vehicle to a safe location within a 10-mile radius for free.

Planning is important if you are going out drinking. Usually, I'll Uber to a location if I plan on drinking and Uber home. Sometimes you can't plan, and you have to many drinks to be driving. That's where this service is helpful.

You do not have to be a AAA member to use this service. Free confidential rides are available to AAA members and non-members. 'Tow to Go' is happening from 6 p.m. Friday, June 20 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 5th.

'Tow to Go' is to be used as a last resort if you can't get home after drinking. If you're planning on meeting friends or going to a cookout and are going to do some drinking, please plan ahead. You can get the details on the program here. The toll-free number you need to call if you are in need of a ride is 855-2-Tow-2-Go or 855-286-9246.

Write the number down or put it in your phone before you go out this holiday weekend. Stay safe and drink responsibly!
