I know there are tons of folks that are already counting down to Christmas. My good friend Dana posted a meme on her Facebook page yesterday, that says Christmas is only 25 weeks away! LOL! People that LOVE Christmas are ready to get festive all year long. In spite of it still being 90 plus degrees outside, folks start sending us messages before summer is over, asking when we'll start playing Christmas music. True story! If you're a Christmas fan and are in need of some new decor, now's your chance to get it on sale.

According to NPR, Christmas Tree Shops is filing for bankruptcy and liquidating all of their stores. The Massachusetts-based retail chain is known for selling home goods, dinnerware and party decorations at a discount. They filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May. The company's original plan was to close down a few stores and become more stable by August.

However, last week the company decided to default on their $45 million loan and close all stores. They have 82 stores in 20 states. There are two stores here in North Carolina and one in South Carolina. If a buyer appears within the next week, the company can be saved. If not, they plan on liquidating all of their merchandise. This means you may be able to snag some holiday decor for a great price!

The stores here in North Carolina are in Greensboro and Fayetteville. Greensboro is an easy road trip! The South Carolina store is in Greenville, which is another easy drive.

Looking at their website, it doesn't look like you can shop online. That may be one of the company's issues. If you're a shopper and enjoy a fun day trip, you may want to hit the Greensboro, N.C. store or Greenville, S.C. store soon. Give yourself a little 'Christmas in July' giftage and stock up before the holidays arrive.
