When you're proposing marriage to someone, it can be a bit nerve wracking. You're excited, scared, and a bit nervous. Sometimes those nervous feelings lead to a screw-up, and that's the case here. A man from Tennessee lost his engagement ring while vacationing with his girlfriend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina but a teenager saved the day!

According to People, the man and his girlfriend were walking on the beach, and as he reached for the engagement ring in his pocket, it was gone. The couple was taking various pictures while on the beach, and the ring fell out of the man's pocket. The man flagged down some officers with The Myrtle Beach Police Department for help.

Officers Josh Lively, Sean Owens, and Zachary Stashick decided to turn the incident into a training exercise for their colleague Officer Shon McCluskey and his rookie K-9 partner Goggles. All of the officers began searching for the ring, but were not having lots of luck. That's when a 15-year-old named Isaiah Krekeler saved the day.

Krekeler, who's from Ohio, was vacationing at Myrtle Beach and was walking on the beach with his friends. While walking by the police, he overheard them discussing the lost ring. Krekeler was carrying his metal detector, so he joined the search for the ring.

According to Krekeler, who said it was his first time using a metal detector on the beach, the ring was discovered in about 45 seconds. After giving the ring back to the couple, the woman began hugging him. He says he feels like he 'saved a marriage'. He definitely saved the day!

The unidentified couple were able to become engaged once they had the ring back. Obviously, the girlfriend say 'yes' to her boyfriend's proposal. The Myrtle Beach Police Department shared the story on their Facebook page and on their Instagram page. You gotta love a happy ending!
