South Carolina Home to One of the Best Sandwiches in the U.S.
Are you a sandwich lover? Today, we were discussing the “perfect” sandwich. Now me, I am pretty basic. I love a good grilled cheese, especially with a tomato bisque on the side. But, another sandwich that has become my favorite is a chicken tender sub from Publix. Do you know what your favorite sandwich is?
The Food Network is naming some of the best sandwiches in the U.S. Of course, we know the Carolinas had to have made an appearance on this here list. A South Carolina restaurant made the list of their best sandwiches in the U.S. The Southern General on John’s Island in the Charleston area has one of the best sandwiches. Their sloppy joe made the list of one of the best sandwiches in the U.S. Of course, the sloppy joe can get a little sloppy. Although it is an iconic sandwich, we all know it can go wrong at some point. This sloppy joe is one of the best because it features a mix of simmered beef in a pasty Worcestershire-spiked ketchup sauce. This sandwich shop also has a Southern Joe and it has spicy pork and ground beef cooked in a red Creole sauce. Whew, doesn’t that sounds good.
The Southern General is also serving up other options such as sweet tea wings, sweet corn fritters, sesame shrimp sandwich, house club, super butt sandwich, and more! Yum! I have not been in here, but for sure might be taking a trip the next time I visit home. Click here to see what other spots made Food Network’s list.
