This is not a shocker! With the massive success of the 'Barbie' movie, Mattel is announcing that they're planning to open a theme park in 2024. The legendary toy company announced earlier this year that they're planning on numerous movies based on some of their popular toys: Uno, Hot Wheels, Magic 8 Ball, and more. Since the 'Barbie' movie is going so well, I'm sure they're hoping other toy movies will do well too.

According to Yahoo Entertainment, Mattel Adventure Park will be a full-scale amusement park filled with rides based on all your favorite toys and games. There will be a life-size Barbie Dream House, two Hot Wheels rollercoaster and Master of the Universe Castle Grayskull.

The park is set to open sometime in 2024 at VAI Resort in Glendale, Arizona. It will be the state's first fully themed indoor/outdoor amusement park. Already I'm seeing lots of folks vacationing here instead of Disney. Many of the attractions are still in the planning stages, while some are completed and set to go. Much like Disney, the park is sure to attract kids and adults. We all love nostalgia!

Mattel Adventure Park Will Be Big

Spanning nine acres, the park will feature an outdoor concert venue, four hotels, a sand beach, nightclubs and more. The VAI Resort will be the largest hotel in Arizona, with over 1,100 rooms, 12 restaurants, and lots more.

We all know it can get crazy hot in Arizona in summer, but don't worry, Mattel has thought of that! All the queues for the rides will be indoors so you won't have to stand in the desert heat. No prices have been set yet for entrance into the park. I'm sure, as with Disney, you'll be able to buy single day tickets and yearly passes.

I love this idea! Millions of people will flock to this park. The first year the park is open it will probably be hard to go. I see tickets selling quickly! Mattel already has some peaks at some of the rides, and they have some computer-generated pictures that look awesome. See the pictures and keep up with the construction of the park here. Amusement parks aren't really my thing, but I'm all about packing a bag and hitting this one!  I'm 53 but a bit giddy about going into a life-size Barbie Dreamhouse!
