North Carolina Is One Of The States With The Biggest Sweet Tooth
Whenever you ever you see a list of the best careers in the U.S., dentistry is often right up there. I’ve never heard of a dentist who didn’t make a comfortable living. Most of them are always busy. Go ahead, try to make an appointment today. You’re probably going to wait a week or two to get in. It might have something to do with our sweet tooth.
America loves its sugar. According to SWNS, a survey conducted by OnePoll for Crumbl Cookies shows that one in six Americans eat dessert every day. The survey of 5,000 Americans (100 per state) found that people from Tennessee are most likely to eat dessert every day (25%). Then it’s a three-way tie for second place between Colorado, Louisiana, and North Carolina (22% each).
There were some other interesting findings to come out of the survey. The majority of respondents consider themselves to be a “dessert person” (74%), especially folks from Washington (83%) and Iowa (81%). As far as willpower goes, people from Indiana say they have the hardest time saying ‘no’ to their cravings (82%). Alaskans have the easiest time turning down dessert (23%).
Which desserts are Americans eating the most? No surprises here. The survey reveals the top three are ice cream (55%), cookies (35%), and chocolate (32%). When it comes to America’s favorite cookie, it’s chocolate chip by a mile (62%).
Oddly enough, most respondents claim to crave something sweet at a time that we don’t usually associate with dessert: 2:30 p.m. That might have more to do with needing an afternoon sugar boost at work than satisfying one’s sweet tooth. But it brings us back to why dentists are so in demand. Do you know the best time to go to the dentist? Tooth-hurty! I’ll show myself out.
