Cash 5 Ticket Purchased In Charlotte Hit Big Over Labor Day Weekend
Someone kicked off their Labor Day weekend by becoming a millionaire and they might not even know it. According to the North Carolina Education Lottery, a Cash 5 ticket purchased for $1 at a Charlotte supermarket had all the right numbers for a whopping $1.2 million jackpot. That’s a very nice return on very small investment.
The lucky lottery winner bought the Cash 5 ticket at the Food Lion located on Cambridge Commons Drive in Charlotte. The ticket matched all five numbers in Friday’s (9/1) drawing. The winning numbers were 4, 19, 29, 34, and 39. The odds of matching the numbers on all five balls are 1 in 962,598.
The $1,226,664 jackpot was the first to exceed $1 million since November 2022. The all-time Cash 5 jackpot record still stands at $2.1 million. That was won in April 2021.
Since the Cash 5 jackpot was won on Friday, the number resets to $100,000. The winner, who has yet to come forward, has 180 days from the drawing to claim the prize. They might be laying low until they come up with a game plan. I don’t blame them.
Did you know ticket sales from draw games like Cash 5 make it possible for the lottery to raise $2.5 million a day on average for education projects such as school construction? You can learn more HERE.
