Charlotte Regional Farmer’s Market ‘Harvest Festival’ Has Fun For Everyone

I’m a big fan of local farmer’s markets, and I go to the one in Gastonia often. The Charlotte Regional Famer’s Market on Yorkmont Road here in town is amazing though! Sometimes I’ll go before work, but the weekends is when you can find a huge array of different things. I go early since I’m not a big fan of crowds. Last time I went, a month or so ago, I had one of the tastiest desserts from The Thoughtful Baking Company here in Charlotte. SO good!

Fall is here and if you’re like me and love the cooler weather, The Charlotte Regional Farmer’s Market is having their ‘Harvest Festival’ on Sunday, October 1. This family fun event is offering something for everyone! I follow the market on Instagram, and saw their flyer for the event. It looks awesome!

The ‘Harvest Festival’ will happen from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 1st, and the day will offer lots of food, fun and festiveness! If you’re a food fan, like I am, there will be a food truck rodeo. You’ll be able to try foods from numerous food trucks. In addition to the food, local breweries and wineries will be on hand if you’re up for some taste testing while you’re shopping. There’s also fun for the kids! They’ll be offering lots of games and activities for kids.

You Can Win Prizes Too

If you’re crafty, there will be a pumpkin decorating contest. Cash prizes will be given out for the best pumpkins, and yes adults, you can join in on the fun. The contest will have three age divisions: 8 and under, 9-15 years old, and 16 years old and up. You can see the prizes and see what the judging will be based on here. 

Maybe decorating pumpkins isn’t your thing…no worries! There’s also going to be a sweet potato recipe contest. Yum! Wonder if they need a judge? I’m in! LOL! If kitchen craftiness is your thing, and you love sweet potatoes, start brainstorming your tasty recipe idea now!

Vendors slots are still available, so if you own a local business and would like to be a part of the event, you can call the market office at 704-357-1269. It’s definitely going to be a fun day!

7 Must Do Activities In North Carolina This Fall

Have you created your fall bucket list yet? This weekend is Labor Day and the unofficial kick-off to fall. The kids are back in school, football is back, and pumpkin spice lattes are in Starbucks. Now the weather just needs to catch up. But soon we will be in sweaters, with leaves falling around us, surrounded by pumpkins and the smell of fresh cider. Which means it’s time to plan for the best season of the year. So I’m here with some must-do activities in North Carolina this fall.

So get your boots on, it’s time to Fall in love with Fall. There is no shortage of fun activities to partake in across the state of North Carolina this September through November. Which is your favorite part of the season? The leaves falling, the pumpkin carving, or all the delicious beverages to taste. I just want to scream “It’s fall y’all”. Except it still feels like a sauna outside currently, and this weekend it was too hot to even go to the pool. Which left me with plenty of time to daydream about the cooler weather and all the fun to be had.  I even put my football pumpkin on my porch because it’s time ladies and gentlemen, it’s time!
