It happens to my mom every time she goes into Walmart. Yesterday I was with a friend in Michael's, and as soon as we were walking in, she says, 'I always have to go to the bathroom when I walk in here.' It's a real thing! Now there's an app in case you need to go and want some privacy.
According to Fox 5 San Diego, when nature calls an app can help you find relief. The Restspace App is designed to help you find a private bathroom to rent. It's kind of like Uber for a bathroom! Prices start at $15 for 15 minutes. As of right now, about 400 people have downloaded the app. It was quite successful during Comic Con in San Diego.
This particular app is only available in San Diego. There are other apps though to help you find a private bathroom if you need one. There's an app called Slush Toilet Finder, giving you access to over 200,000 bathrooms, and in the UK, Loo Finder is available when needing a bathroom.
Who Knew This Was A Thing?
I had no idea that toilet apps were a thing! According to the National Association for Continence (yes, that's a thing), there's an app called 'Sit or Squat' by Charmin that will help you find a public restroom near you. In addition to that app, they also are recommending 'Bathroom Scout' which has 1,800,000 bathrooms listed worldwide, including public toilets, or restrooms in restaurants and other facilities.
The National Association for Continence also has other apps listed that they find helpful. Drinking water is one of the things I try to do a lot daily, so I go to the bathroom a lot. That said, I've never really thought about apps to locate a bathroom. Traveling isn't something I do lots, but when I do travel and have to go, usually I'll stop at a truck stop/convenience store. I'm planning on driving to Miami in March, 2024 to go on a cruise. Flying seems like a freaking nightmare now, so my friend and I think driving is the better call. I guess these apps could be useful when in an unfamiliar area. Maybe we'll give em a try!
Everyone goes to the bathroom, but I swear, I had no clue there was so much info online about toilets and restrooms. Phil and I need to start a 'toilet talk' segment! LOL!
