Tasty and Fun Witches Brew Stew Is A Must Make Meal For October

Over the weekend I spent some time at the Carolina Renaissance Festival. Saturday morning I went to the festival, got dressed up in a gypsy outfit, and hung out with The Last Viking Clan for a bit. They were such awesome folks! They put me through a few tests, and made me an honorary Viking! While I was there, walking around, one of our sales folks and I were chatting. She mentioned a dish that’s fun for Halloween and I found it on Pinterest.
Walking around the festival, we passed the food area, watching lots of folks eating massive turkey legs. As we were walking by, our sales person Sherry and I were chatting about fall foods. Both of us love using our slow cooker when the weather cools down, and we both love making homemade soup. She was telling me about a dish she makes in the fall called ‘Witches Brew Stew’.
When I got home, I looked up the recipe on Pinterest. When she was telling me about the dish, she mentioned it had mushrooms, ground beef, and sausage in it. After looking on Pinterest, I think this is the dish!
You Can Make This Fun For Kids
Reading through the recipe, you can make the carrots that go in the stew into little pumpkins, and the mushrooms into skulls. It’s so cute! When looking at the picture of the stew, I thought the mushrooms were ghosts. And I’m sure you could tell your kids they are! In addition to the mushrooms and carrots, there’s leeks, celery, and potatoes. Definitely a filling meal!
If it’s chilly on Halloween, this is a great dish to serve before your kids go trick-or-treating. With the ‘pumpkin carrots’ and ‘ghost/skull mushrooms’ they’ll have a hearty meal with a fun and spooky theme.
The entire ingredients list and all of the directions are here. I’m planning to make this when it gets a bit chilly. A nice crusty piece of bread will be perfect with this! @littleinfluencer_hailey made the dish and you can see her video below. Looks tasty!
6 Of The Most Terrifying Haunted Attractions In North Carolina
Scared yet? Spooky season is upon us which means it’s time to plan your Halloween fun. And what is Halloween without visiting at least one Haunted House, trail, or attraction? Why watch a horror movie when you could experience it for yourself? There are many haunted attractions in North Carolina, so chances are there is one near you. Some are haunted houses or indoor mazes. Others are outdoors through corn mazes, woods, or perhaps lakeside. And the best part? Most of these haunted locations have a number of attractions so you get lots of scares for your money.
I’ve chosen to highlight six of the best-haunted attractions in North Carolina. These are all in the greater Charlotte region, within about an hour and a half drive from the Queen City. And even if some of these are a little far- they are worth the drive for sure! Each location on this list offers something unique and is either one I personally have visited or has come highly recommended by friends! As with any haunted experience, the goal of these attractions is to find any way to scare you. One even says if someone hasn’t peed their pants by the end of the night well they didn’t do their job. So these are not for the faint of heart. Most have restrictions and will not allow children under the age of 12 to visit.
So visit or enter at your own risk. If you dare. Keep reading to see 6 of the best haunted attractions in the Charlotte North Carolina region. Have an attraction you love that I missed? Be sure to reach out to us on social media to let us know! Happy Haunting.
