TikTok Cooking ‘Hack’ Goes Too Far And Can We Please Get Some Folks Outta The Kitchen?

There are thousands of cooking ‘hacks’ on TikTok, and some are a bit unorthodox. I get it! Cooking is creative. But I’m done with this hack! A video is going viral on TikTok of a content creator showing how she gets grease out of the pan when cooking ground beef. MOST of us drain it using a colander or a skimmer spoon. Not this chick. The way she is doing it makes me wanna hurl.
According to Delish, content creator @Victorias.way is sharing her ‘hack’ and the video has over 47,000 likes and over 3,500 comments. She says the easiest way to remove excess fat when cooking ground meat is to use two tampons. Yes. You read that correctly. Tampons. In the video, you can see her doing just that!
Now, I understand what tampons are made of. She uses the cotton part of the female hygiene product to do the soaking up of the grease. It’s still nasty though. I understand cotton can work, but the visual of something that’s for the bathroom in the kitchen is freaking me out. And I’m not the only one!
How Are Others Reacting To The Hack?
Usually when someone posts a video on TikTok that may be a bit controversial, their are folks that show support for whatever is in the video. This really isn’t the case with this video. Most folks commenting are horrified by the hack. Most folks don’t understand why she can’t just drain the grease out using a strainer or colander. I agree! In addition to it just looking wrong, there are chemicals that are used when making tampons that shouldn’t be used when cooking food.
According to the National Library of Medicine, even when tampons are being used for their intended purpose, you can be exposed to chemicals. Which means, they don’t go in the food your about to eat!
Earlier today, our boss sent an email to all staff saying, ‘save the date’ for an office potluck for Thanksgiving. After seeing this video, I’m not sure I’ll be eating a lot. LOL! Would you eat a meal that someone prepared this way?

Here's How Much Money The Most Popular Dog Influencers Bring Home On TikTok
And I am officially doing the wrong thing with my life. Yes, I post occasionally on TikTok but I’ve yet to make a penny off of that. But if you’re doing it correctly, you can be making a pretty penny. And one of the most popular types of accounts on the social media platform? Dogs. There are tons of dog influencers on TikTok and many of them are quite successful. The hashtag “dog” has a whopping 413.8 billion views with #dogsofTikTok and #dogs each having well over 100 billion views as well. That’s a billion with b. But more important in the world of influencers than views is engagement rates (likes, comments, shares, etc) which these canines are also racking up.
Our friends at Printed Pet Memories conducted a study on the most financially successful dog influencers on TikTok. And yeah, I’m in the completely wrong career field. These dogs are racking up what I make in a week in one post. To come up with these dollar amounts Printed Pet Memories used an Influencer Marketing Calculator (didn’t know that existed) to figure out what they can earn per sponsored TikTok post. Anyone have a dog I can borrow? Keep reading to see who the most successful dog influencers are, a cute video of them, as well as what they can bring in per post.
