Halloween is almost here and we’re rollin’ fast towards Thanksgiving. The holidays can be a rough time for some folks, especially if they have no one to celebrate with. Some folks can’t always make it to a family gathering due to work or travel expenses. Now a popular dating app wants to help!
According to Delish, popular dating app Bumble wants to help folks find a ‘Friendsgiving’ to attend for Thanksgiving. And they have a solid partner in Butterball. The two are collaborating to help people create new friendships this year for Thanksgiving. The app is introducing ‘Bumble For Friends’ just in time for the holidays.
‘Bumble For Friends’ is in the app’s platonic relationships section and is launching a Friendsgiving planning feature beginning November 1. With the new feature, users on the dating app can match with other folks who are looking for holiday plans. In addition to finding a Friendsgiving to attend, users can also find people to invite to their own gathering or co-host a Friendsgiving with some new friends. Not the most traditional way to make new friends, but it’s cool!
Making New Friends As An Adult is Hard
The older you get, the more difficult it is to make new friends. Especially if you’re single! At my age, almost all of my friends are married, and most have kids. As a single woman in her 50’s, with no kids, making new friends can be a task. This is a cool way to meet new people. Dating apps aren’t really my thing, but I like knowing that Bumble has a platonic section. I had no idea.
Butterball and Bumble are also hosting a series of in-person and virtual gatherings leading up to Thanksgiving. These events will give people a chance to meet new friends and learn some helpful cooking tips from Butterball’s team of Turkey Talk-Line experts. They’re legendary! I’m guessing these events will only be in really big cities. There are some virtual events though.
