Why Taylor Swift Once Dressed Up Like Ace Frehley
Taylor Swift? Dressed up as Ace Frehley in full Spaceman regalia? Yep, it once happened, and it was on stage, too.
Well over a decade ago — before she was the biggest pop star in the world — Swift was the opening act for country superstar Keith Urban. This was on Urban’s Escape Together World Tour back in 2009. The setlist that night featured Urban’s hit song “Kiss A Girl” a few songs before his eventual encore.
So, what better way for the opening act to prank the headliner than by dressing up as KISS and storming the stage while Urban plays “Kiss A Girl”? As previously mentioned, Swift dressed as Frehley’s Spaceman. (Side note: Her makeup was so flawless you’d think she was a member of the KISS Army.) Other members of her band were dressed as the Demon, Starchild and the Catman. Swift and her band even did some of KISS’ classic stage moves! For good measure, other members of Swift’s band were dressed as Hershey Kisses.
Urban clearly loved the prank and managed not to be completely thrown off by the absurdity of it all. He even backed away from his microphone to have Swift sing a bit. Full video of the moment is below.
