Velveeta Rolls Out Wild Hair Dye And It’s Not A Joke
April Fool’s Day was yesterday, and we all saw random weird things online that were created as a joke. Velveeta is saying their new hair dye is NOT a joke, although I think it probably should be! Velveeta Gold was released yesterday, and the company is saying it’s not a prank.
According to Food & Wine, the new hair product is similar in color to the processed cheese. It’s for those who want to be bold and live by their own rules. Actress Julia Fox is sporting the new hair color. Although I don’t know much about her, I do know that her fashion choices are quite edgy. An example is below. That said, I think the color looks a bit cartoon-like, even on her.
This is the company’s first personal care product. They did come out with a cheesy scented nail polish a few years ago, and more recently have come out with a Velveeta Martini recipe and Velveeta/Chocolate Truffles.
Velveeta isn’t my favorite thing, but I will admit that if you’re making a cheesy dip, it’s perfect for that. As with processed cheese slices it melts quickly and consistently, making it a popular choice for dips like Chile con queso and for sandwiches such as a grilled cheese. Natural cheese just doesn’t break down as easily.
Buying The Wild Velveeta Dye
I’m a bit edgy myself and have had all kinds of hair colors; blue, pink, red, black and blue, copper, and blonde. My hair has been crazy short, kinda short, and medium length. I probably change my hair style and color more than most. But I’m not seeing this color on me. It’s definitely not for a person that has olive colored skin.
Looking at the pictures of the new color it does look like Velveeta melted down. If you didn’t know a hair product, you’d think it was an odd colored lotion or some type of rub on tan cream. Although I don’t think it makes an attractive all-over hair color, it might look cool if you used it for highlights or funky streaks with another base color.
If you’re a fan of Velveeta and want to try their new semi-permanent color, you can buy Velveeta Gold exclusively on Amazon. It’s $7.50 a box, while supplies last. Despite the odd color, I have no doubt it will sell out quickly!
