Come Along As We Finally Get A Chance To Try The Hottest New Wine Cafe In Charlotte
One of the most popular new spots in Charlotte is the Bowl at Ballantyne. And, we finally had a chance to try Postino at the Bowl at Ballantyne. It’s one of the hottest wine cafes in town, and we certainly can see why. And, we’ll share our journey with you!
So, ever since the Bowl at Ballantyne opened over the last few months, we’ve watched closely as week after week fantastic new restaurants launch. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the new location of Olde Mecklenberg Brewery, Honeysuckle Gelato and Flower Child, which were outstanding.
And, last week we tried to visit Postino at the Bowl at Ballantyne. However, we didn’t have a reservation and the wait was lengthy due to an event at The Amp. So, we decided to give it another go this week. And, this time, we planned ahead. We called on Wednesday. And, we were able to get a table for Sunday night. Woohoo!
Postino At The Bowl At Ballantyne
Postino at the Bowl at Ballantyne is so much fun. It is definitely a place to come for a good time with a date or friends. It’s loud, but in a good way. And, the bar is fairly large. Plus, there’s an outdoor space with tables and umbrellas. I think that would be wonderful on a crisp Fall evening or Saturday afternoon.
And, for a spot known for wine, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Postino at the Bowl at Ballantyne had a pretty big menu. So, here’s what we decided on.
The Wines We Tried
Service at Postino at the Bowl at Ballantyne was quick and attentive. The wines were outstanding. We chose a glass of a red blend from Australia for the hubby and a glass of sauvignon blanc from New Zealand for me. I’m not even a red drinker. But, the blend was smooth and quite good. My sauvignon blanc was great, too.
How To Get A Free Board At Postino
Earlier this week, I found out that I could sign up for the email club from Postino, and they would gift me a free board! That’s about an $18 value. So, of course, I did it. And, that’s what we started with.
The Boards And Snacky Things At Postino At The Bowl At Ballantyne
The bruschetta boards at Postino at the Bowl at Ballantyne are so fun. They have 12 different variations. And, how it works is you choose four. The board arrives with four different bruschetta pieces sliced up into four. And, they’re really large. I was expecting a small bite. But, we were really pleased that the board would be enough to fill up several people.
We went with Mexican Street Corn, Brie, Apple & Fig Spread, Prosciutto Di Parma, Fig & Mascarpone and the Sweet ‘N’ Spicy Pepper Jam & Goat Cheese. It’s hard to say what I liked the best. They were all wonderful in their own way. And, best part, every time you come back you can mix it up again with different choices.
Postino at the Bowl at Ballantyne also has other larger prepared boards, soup and salad options and paninis. But, from the ‘Snacky Things’ menu we chose the OMG Grilled Cheese. That was the star of the evening. It’s a grilled cheese panini with layered gruyere, whipped brie, goat cheese, white cheddar, smoked bacon and a creamy tomato soup ‘dip.’ It takes you back to the best childhood memories.
Dessert At Postino And Hot Donut Dots
Now, on to dessert! Yes, we saved room. Their options at Postino at the Bowl at Ballantyne include Creme Brulee, Cookie Sundae and something called Hot Donut Dots. So, we went with the donuts, housemade ricotta donut holes with salted butter chocolate, caramel and vanilla glaze dipping sauces. They arrived hot and irresistible.
So, it was a 10/10 night at Postino at the Bowl at Ballantyne. And, they offer many enticing offers right now. Grab $6 glasses of wine and pitchers of beer until 5 p.m. every day and $25 bruschetta board and bottle of wine on Mondays and Tuesdays after 8 p.m. And, the free board is a great perk for joining the email club.
