Behind the sale is a company connected to the real estate duo William and Vicky Mitchener of Dickens Mitchener. The impressive home spans 6,000 square feet, featuring five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. A guest house sits alongside the main home on nearly an acre of beautiful land.
This home's price has jumped significantly, it sold for just $1.4 million in 2002. The sale beats the previous Eastover record of $9.2 million from May 2021.
At Lake Norman, a new build in Cornelius sold for $6.8 million. This 7,524-square-foot lakefront home was the second-highest sale of the month.
The market remained strong with a $6 million Foxcroft home spanning 7,071 square feet. A lakefront property on Sweetleaf Place sold for $5.6 million. In Myers Park, a 7,412-square-foot traditional home went for $5.5 million.
These numbers come from the Charlotte Business Journal's monthly review of top home sales. January's ten biggest sales ranged from $3.5 million to the record-breaking $10.25 million.
Most buyers at this price point pay cash, helping them avoid high interest rates. While this Eastover sale wasn't publicly listed, it still tops the area's previous high of $6 million.
An $11.5 million Lake Norman mansion in Cornelius still holds the overall record. Through Canopy MLS, Charlotte's highest sale reached $8.4 million for a Providence Road estate - previously owned by former Charlotte Checkers owner Michael Kahn.
Luxury buyers continue moving to areas like The Manors at Mattie Rose and Cotswold, showing Charlotte's high-end market remains healthy.
