Winter Guide – Places To Go & Things To See

‘Cheer Map’ Finds The Best Christmas Lights In Your Neighborhood

One of my favorite holiday memories from when my now 18- and 20-year-old sons were little is driving around different neighborhoods to see Christmas lights. It was a cheap and easy way to entertain the kids and fill our car with joy. But it did take a bit of wandering before we found the best lights. Not exactly a fuel efficient way to celebrate the season. If only we had a map to help us find the best lights. Ask and ye shall receive. The Cheer Map is the antidote to driving around aimlessly in December. Nextdoor and The Home Depot have brought back this interactive map that shows where the biggest and best Christmas lights displays are in your area. You can also add your home to the map if you’ve decked your halls and want people to come see your handiwork. If you're a Christmas decorating newbie, the Cheer Map also includes how-to directions for hanging lights and other holiday decorations.
