Macy’s has revealed the new balloons and floats for next week’s 96th Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. The 2022 additions were unveiled at a preview event on Tuesday (11/15) inside Macy’s Studio and at Balloonfest outside MetLife Stadium, both in northern New Jersey.
Will Coss, the parade’s executive producer, told WPIX-TV there will be six new floats, such as the Baby Shark and Toys “R” Us floats. New balloons include “Bluey,” “Diary of A Wimpy Kid,” “DINO and Baby DINO,” and “Stuart the Minion.” The parade will also feature 12 marching bands, including the Benedict College Marching Tiger Band of Distinction from Columbia, South Carolina.
This year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has a new start time of 8:45 a.m. because the parade has gotten bigger. However, that won’t change the start of the TV broadcast, which is still at 9:00 a.m. on NBC. You can learn more on the parade website. Here’s a peek at what we’ll see:
