Anyone who’s gone grocery shopping in the last year, and that’s most of us, knows that food prices have gone through the roof. Staples such as eggs, milk, bread, coffee, and beer all cost significantly more now than they did a year ago.

Believe it or not, a few foods and beverages did not change in price, despite the painful economic inflation of the past year. According to The Daily Meal, here are six grocery and fast food restaurant items that somehow managed to remain essentially “inflation-proof” in 2022:

  • Tomatoes

The price mostly held steady, with just a 1% increase in 2022. Not bad.

  • Strawberries

The average price actually dropped from $2.31 a pint to $2.20. Sweet!

  • Steak

While ground beef prices went up more than 10%, the price of a quality steak fell slightly, by 0.3%.

  • Arizona Iced Tea

  • $1 McDonald's soft drinks

    Still just a buck.

  • Costco 1/4-Pound All-Beef Hot Dog & 20 Oz. Soda Combo

Costco’s CEO refuses to raise the price from $1.50. This might be the best food deal in America!
