We still have some summer left to enjoy, but many of us are already looking forward to the cooler weather and breathtaking colors of fall. Since Americans are traveling so much more this year, you would be wise to start planning your fall getaway now.

PureWow is sharing their list of the best fall vacations in the U.S. for 2022. A few of them are an easy drive from Charlotte, including Charleston, South Carolina (#20); Savannah, Georgia (#23); and Williamsburg, Virginia (#25). Here are the top ten:

10. Grand Canyon, Arizona

"Ooh ahh" is right! It’s a truly amazing national park that’s not too crowded and has cooler weather.

If you want fall vineyards, festivals, and fall foliage, this is your place.

7. Aspen, Colorado

Beautiful mountains, great weather, and excellent hiking.

6. Yosemite, California

It has spectacular scenery, isn’t too crowded, and offers hiking for days.

5. Sedona, Arizona

Not much foliage in the desert but the fall colors are still beautiful and there’s excellent hiking.

4. Woodstock, Vermont

Not only will you get fall foliage, but you’ll also be surrounded by country charm and apple picking.

3. Eastern Shore, Maryland

More great fall foliage, a bit cooler weather, and a rich history.

2. Acadia, Maine

It’s a gorgeous seaside area with fall foliage, fewer crowds, crisp weather, and stunning hikes.

These mountains are filled with great fall foliage, vibrant colors, and lots of fun outdoor activities.
