It’s been 35 years since the movie “Dirty Dancing” was released. People still love the movie and the soundtrack! It’s one of those movies that will always be a classic. And if you’re a fan, you can now stay at the Virginia lodge where the movie was filmed.

Mountain Lake Lodge, known as Kellerman’s Mountain House in the classic movie, is located in the center of a 2,600-acre nature preserve and bird sanctuary in Virginia. It appeared in scenes that featured the Harvest Restaurant and Patio, where characters Johnny and Baby, played by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, saw each other for the first time. There’s also Baby’s Cabin and The Gazebo, where the salsa lessons happened.

According to MSN, the resort is offering fans the chance to transport themselves back in time with “Dirty Dancing Weekends.” Guests can take part in activities inspired by the movie. Dance lessons and guided tours of film locations are available. There are also parties, lawn games, scavenger hunts and screenings of the film.

If you’re up for having “the time of your life”, you need to get on the waiting list now. The weekends at the lodge are going fast and the resort is planning more. I remember my senior year at the beach, after graduation, with my girls singing songs from the movie while on the deck of the house we rented. Fun times!

If you want to check out what Mountain Lake Lodge looks like now, FOX Television has a new reality show called “The Real Dirty Dancing” that comes on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m.
