Food News New Products and Returning Favorites and Halloween Themes

We’ve got some fun food news for you including some new Halloween goodies! Food companies are all about marketing. Simply put themed products sell. And capitalizing off of anything popular can mean big bucks. That includes trending movies, tv shows, and even your basic holidays. And fall well we all know how much people love the season. Not just “pumpkin spice” either.  You know good and well that those leaf-shaped tortilla chips are far superior to regular ones (someone else had to have seen that TikTok video right?). I’ll admit I’m a sucker for a good holiday product. That’s why many of these new releases caught my eye. Even if you aren’t a fall food lover we’ve got some other new products you may want to try as well!

We are talking about a Halloween favorite dessert, a spooky condiment, cookie dough, and more! I already needed to go grocery shopping so need to add these fun items to my list. And the one that I can’t get at a grocery store? Well, it’s the one I want to try most. So much for that diet I was contemplating! It can wait til New Years.

This Week’s Food News With A Focus On Halloween

  • Cinnabon Launches Ready-To-Bake Dough

    Cinnabon is introducing a new line of premium ready-to-bake cookie doughs and desserts.  The treats will be available at Walmart stores nationwide starting October 1, 2022.  They include cinnamon roll cookie dough, salted caramel chocolate cookie dough, frosted mini bites, and cinnamon coffee cake. Beginning November 1, there will also be chocolate chip cookie dough, sugar cookie dough, chocolate chip brownie, and red velvet cake.

    If you’re anything like me this will be a no-bake kind of snack!

  • Cold Stone Boo Batter

    Cold Stone Brings Back Boo Batter Cold Stone Creamery is celebrating the Halloween Season with the return of Boo Batter Ice Cream. Boo Batter Ice Cream is actually cake batter ice cream with a black coloring.  It can be enjoyed on its own or as part of the Treat or Treat Creation which features Boo Batter Ice Cream mixed with trick-or-treat favorites Halloween Oreo Cookies, Kit Kat and M&M’s. Fans can also add an orange waffle cone or bowl. Boo Batter can be found at participating Cold Stone Creamery stores nationwide now through October 31.

    Cake batter ice cream is my absolute favorite, so you know I will be trying this!

  • Gatorade Citrus Kick

    Gatorade Introduces New Flavor Gatorade is teaming up with artist Glen Infante again for the release of a new limited-edition flavor.  Gatorade Thirst Quencher Citrus Kick is available now at retailers nationwide. The Citrus Kick packaging features a design that includes a fist bump to symbolize coming together as a community to create change, with a color palette inspired by artist Glen Infante’s favorite Gatorade flavors. This is the second time Gatorade has teamed up with Infante. He also redesigned the iconic Gatorade sideline coolers at the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend. The designs are meant to bring attention to Gatorade’s Fuel Tomorrow initiative, which seeks to give everyone equal opportunities to play sports and realize their potential.

    Not sure anything can top the OG Gatorade, but I’ll give it a try.

  • Kellogg's Nutty Buddy Cereal

    Kellogg’s Unveils Nutty Buddy Cereal Kellogg’s and Little Debbie are teaming up for a new Little Debbie Nutty Buddy Cereal. The new Little Debbie Nutty Buddy Cereal features crunchy cereal pieces coated in fudge with a lightly roasted peanut butter flavor for the quintessential Nutty Buddy experience. It is available at Walmart this month and at additional retailers nationwide in December.

    Who doesn’t love a sugary cereal?

  • Tomato Blood

    Tomato Blood Is Back Heinz is bringing back their Tomato Blood Ketchup for the 2022 Halloween season. The Tomato Blood Ketchup bottles are filled with the ketchup you know and love, but are specially wrapped in a spooky Halloween-themed limited edition label. The spooky ketchup is available at retailers nationwide through the end of the month. Is this something you would go out of your way to get?
