When I saw this headline, I was like, WTH?! Having been married twice, I've experienced a demanding mother-in-law but this woman is out of her mind and ridiculously selfish. I've never been pregnant but many of my close friends have, and I know those last few months are stressful. You don't need someone else adding stress to your life, but that's the case here.

In a post to Reddit’s “Am I the a-hole” section, a 24-year-old writes that she’s pregnant with her first child, who’s due the week before Thanksgiving. Her parents live in another country and her in-laws asked if they could come stay with them close to her due date. The couple agreed, but she admits she didn’t consider her husband’s big family when she said yes.

The woman writes that her husband’s parents, six siblings and a brother-in-law are all coming to their house. That's a lot! And his parents are really hoping to stay for Thanksgiving with them after the baby is born. But after she and her husband agreed to this, plans started changing.

His sister and husband can’t get time off then, so they want to move the Thanksgiving celebration to November 20th or 21st. When the pregnant woman and her hubby reminded his parents that they can’t promise that’ll work, as her due date is the 19th, her mother-in-law came up with a solution.

This mother-in-law told the pregnant woman to have her doctor induce labor. She wanted this to happen on November 12, since that works better for the family. Say WHAT?! The in-laws want her to move up the birth of her baby to accommodate their Thanksgiving plans.

SURE! NO problem! This is nuts. And I can't imagine a doctor going along with this. Obviously, we all know the safety of the baby and the mother are the most important things. Not a Thanksgiving meal. I mean, Thanksgiving is my favorite food holiday, but come on! This woman is nuts!

The mom-to-be is beyond stressed. On top of having to deal with a house full of people with a newborn, in the midst of COVID, she's being asked to purposely have her baby early. She asks Reddit if she’s wrong for not wanting to be induced and for being so stressed about this. EVERYONE is on her side.

I would have to explain to my mother-in-law that it ain't happening. I'd do it respectfully but if she argued, we'd have a problem. We all know I love stuffing, but I ain't having a kid early just to have Thanksgiving early to make sure someone's travel plans work. Get outta here with that! And not to sound like a diva, but I'd expect my husband to have my back and deal with his family.

Am I the only one that thinks this is crazy? Anyone? Bueller?
