Want to make someone angry? Just say Charlotte housing market. Trying to buy a home in Charlotte is frustrating, depressing, and a reality check all in one. And nothing demonstrates this more than a recent listing on Zillow. The home which is located at 1301 N Caldwell Street is currently listed at $530,000. And it's in less than stellar condition.

According to the listing it is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and just over 1100 square feet. But it seems it is being sold as a tear down for someone else to rebuild on the lot. And the location is good- just a hop skip and a jump from Optimist Hall. It's also a corner lot which increase the value as well. Though it's only on 11 tenths of an acre so you aren't getting a lot of space to work with for that price tag.

There are no pictures of the interior of the home, which leads me to believe it is not in great condition. More than half a million dollars should get you a nice home. At least one would think. Instead in this market it will get you the land to buy your nice home on (after you pay to demo the existing property).

You can see the listing below. It appears to have been on the market for about 6 days this time around. Though it was previously listed at $550,000 in July, lowered to $530,000 in August, and taken off the market in December. Good for your Charlotte for not giving into this. Zillow says that the home was last purchased in 1987 for $29,000.Yeah that makes me sick. Absolutely sick. To everyone else out there like me trying to buy in the Charlotte housing market- good luck, it's brutal and unaffordable and I wish I could offer any good news for you.
