Why You Don’t See Great White Sharks At Aquariums
It’s almost here! Shark Week begins this Sunday (7/23) and you may have already set your DVR to record everything Discovery will be airing. The show I’m most eagerly awaiting is Phelps vs. Shark: The Battle for Ocean Supremacy, in which Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps takes on a fast and ferocious great white shark.
Who will win this epic race? That remains to be seen, and, unless you have a really bad day at the beach, television is probably the only way you’ll ever see a great white swimming because they haven’t been kept in aquariums for years. Here’s why:
