Family Says Goodbye To Mom Dying From Coronavirus Over Walkie-Talkie
A 42-year-old mother from Washington State lost her battle to the coronavirus and her family had no choice but to say goodbye over a walkie talkie, according to Buzzfeed.
Sundee Rutter, a single mother of six children, was recovering from breast cancer when she was diagnosed with COVID-19. Sundee arrived at the hospital with symptoms however, the hospital sent her home, a local news station reported. She came back on March 7th and was admitted for pneumonia. Testing positive for the virus the following day.
One of the children, Elijah Ross-Rutter, said he was initially allowed to visit with his mother if he wore a face mask, however, things changed when she was put in isolation.
The heartbroken family had no choice but to support their mother through a small glass window outside of the hospital. “Like, I’m about to lose my best friend and she can’t even hear me,” one of her sons told Buzzfeed News. “They don’t even want to touch my mom,” he added.
“When I got the news of her, I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is not something to play with, this is serious,’ and now my outlook is different,” Sundee’s friend told KOMO.
“She was a wonderful person, and there’s not many like her out there anymore,” she added. “Great friend, great mother, great wife, she was a wonderful person … We’re pretty devastated. She beat cancer and lost the battle to coronavirus? It’s just crazy.”
Sundee’s children are now without both parents. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family.

Spain To Impose Nationwide Lockdown To Combat The Coronavirus
