Following a domestic violence situation, Jannette faced unexpected homelessness due to job loss and apartment eviction. Despite past setbacks, she turned to Charlotte Family Housing (CFH) for help, determined to provide a secure home for her adopted grandson.
Her CFH social worker worked with her to create a budget and focused on connecting her to additional childcare resources. Her CFH housing coordinator helped her secure housing, giving her an affordable, safe place to live for her and her grandson. Empowered by stable housing, Jannette began to thrive.
The CFH team provided encouragement and support as she worked to obtain better employment and improve her financial stewardship. She began mastering the essential habits of saving and budgeting and faithfully contributing to her housing savings every month. By the time she completed the program, she had received a raise, paid off her debts, and graduated having achieved her goal of home ownership!
