The Best Pizza Places In Charlotte
Nearly everyone loves pizza, and you can see that just by seeing all the pizza joints that are right in your neighborhood. My husband and I love pizza so much that we’ve designated Friday nights as pizza night. We get different pizzas from different places and of course, share with the kids.
Over the years there have been different pizza styles, like barbecue pizza with lots of onions, the wonderful Hawaiian pineapple pizza, and many more.
Every pizza joint seems to have its own kind of pizza sauce so sometimes your favorite pizza depends on what pizza place does the right sauce.
My family even discovered that there’s a recipe for pizza dip with cheese, and pepperoni sauce that you put in a bowl and you take little pieces of bread and dip them in. It’s called pizza bowl, and it’s delicious.
As for the origins of pizza, the inventor is a highly debated topic amongst foodies and historians alike. Many people credit baker Raffaele Esposito from the Naples region of Italy for first creating the dish. Others believe that the history of pizza dates far further back than Esposito’s era of the late 1800s. Much of the debate comes down to what you consider a “real pizza” and the evolution of food over the centuries.
We enjoy our pizza so much we thought you guys would like to know what are the best pizza joints in Charlotte.
Bird Pizzeria
While it has been called a hole-in-the-wall, this pizza joint is listed on Forbes‘ best new restaurants in Charlotte list. Husband and wife duo, Kerrel and Nkem Thompson opened Bird in 2021 with not much more than a pickup window, a hanging sign, and a pizza oven.

Consistency might not sound like a ‘rave’ review, but that’s kind of the whole point.”
“This place is a trip!!! I was unsure if we were going in, but I am so glad we did. Do not let anything on the outside sway you from going in for some amazing food.”
