Charlotte: Recapping Halloween Events This Weekend
Halloween this year falls on Thursday, October 31 and yes, it’s a school night. Kids need to go to school the next day so staying up too late and really enjoying the holiday is not as easy as when it falls on the weekend.
A Halloween School Holiday?
It’s been in the news lately that parents in several cities have been trying to get Halloween pushed to the weekend or maybe the day after Halloween, having a school day off. School systems across the country aren’t budging, and kids still need to go to school on Friday, November 1
In Charlotte, and in most cities across the country, a lot of Halloween celebrations are going to be happening this weekend.
We wanted to recap some of the Halloween events that you can take the kids or adults to this weekend in the Charlotte area.
Take the Kids This Weekend
10/25 – Halloween Spooktacular at Chestnut Square Park
Halloween Spooktacular is a fun party where kids come dressed in their best costumes. There’s a huge trunk or treat, pumpkins, and additional activities.

Through 10/26 – Ghost Train at Tweetsie Railroad
The spooktacular season of Tweetsie’s Ghost Train Halloween Celebration, a popular fall family tradition, every Friday and Saturday night through October 26.
Daytime guests can still enjoy all of Tweetsie’s Wild West adventures, rides, and attractions. . . but when the sun goes down, the park gets a full makeover complete with costumed characters, decorations, music, and Halloween-themed attractions.
Younger children will love the dance parties, trick-or-treat stations, themed photo opportunities, and the Palace Spooktacular Show.
