Don’t miss the South End’s Christmas tree lighting in the Railyard, 1414 S. Tryon St., from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Carolers, seasonal refreshments, music, entertainment, and photo opportunities with Santa will be part of the festivities.
Discover the wonder of more than 1 million holiday lights along a half-mile walking trail at the Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular in Ballantyne. The trail will be open daily from Dec. 5 through Dec. 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. General admission on the weekdays is $10 per person.
The Historic Fourth Ward invites adults 21 and older to enjoy a holiday sip and stroll amid the beauty of the season’s decorations. The sip and stroll will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5; Friday, Dec. 6; and Saturday, Dec. 7. Tickets range from $30 to $60. More details are available online.

The Whiskey Club at The Ballantyne Hotel invites guests to experience a four-course whiskey dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. Whiskey samplings from Woodinville will pair with sumptuous dishes such as pork belly with pumpkin puree, seared salmon, braised short ribs, and more. The cost is $100 per person.
Experience the Christmas classic “The Nutcracker” performed by the Charlotte Ballet. The opening-night performance at the Belk Theater in Uptown Charlotte begins at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $32.
