Are Fire Ants Plotting Against The World?
If you’ve ever been bitten by a fire ant, you know that you never want that to happen again. And if you see a fire ant mound in your yard, you know you have to get rid of it immediately. But the few times I’ve been bitten, it has been by one or two fire ants at the most. Then I saw the video below. I’m concerned.
It appears that fire ants have the ability to form towers by climbing on top of each other. They’re getting organized! These towers can contain hundreds of thousands of ants. If it collapses, the ants do it all over again until they have a stable structure. They will not be deterred. Scientists believe the tower can serve as a shelter from rain or base of operations. A “base of operations?” What the heck is going on here? Ant-Qaeda!?!
