Are you an autumnfile? (I may have made that word up.) My definition of an autumnfile is someone who loves everything about fall, from the food to the fall décor. I am, 100 percent, an autumnfile, and proud of it (whether that is a word or not). From March right through August, I crave the first leaf to fall. I ache for cozy blankets to wrap myself in. I yearn for the smell of bonfires and pumpkin beer. Don’t you dare judge me for my pumpkin beer! The bottom line is this: There is nothing about the Fall that I don’t like. And of course, that means I have a lot of fall decor.
I think my love for the season stems from the excitement of going back to school. Do you remember that feeling when you were little? When you just could not wait to see your friends again. Sure, summer is fun, but when you are a kid, the excitement of a change of scenery is enticing. The idea that you will be in a new classroom with different kids and a new teacher is electrifying. The buzz in the stores, when you are doing your back-to-school shopping, is a feeling I still get today, even though the process is completely different as a mom than it is as a student.
I am not the mom that puts the decals on the windows. I don’t even hang my kids’ artwork on the fridge. But I do decorate for Christmas and I am all in when it comes to fall décor. The wreaths, the pillows, the blankets … I love them all!
And you cannot deny the feeling of comfort when you settle in to watch the game. You snuggle up in a warm, cozy blanket with a hot bowl of chili and a beer (pumpkin or otherwise).
Fall decor is my happy place. And I know these items will bring you joy, too. #autumnfilesunite
