Reality Star ‘Mama June’ Arrested for Crack Cocaine: See Her Mugshot
Reality star “Mama June” Shannon has been arrested on drug charges in Alabama, according to multiple reports.
The former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star was arrested following an argument in public with her boyfriend, Eugene Doak. Upon further investigation of the alleged domestic incident, cops reportedly found drugs and drug paraphernalia, AL.com reports.
Both Shannon and Doak are facing charges of felony possession of drugs and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, the LA Times reports.
Doak was also arrested and charged with third-degree domestic violence for allegedly threatening to kill Shannon, according to AL.com.
Macon County Sheriff Andre Brunso said the two had been partying and gambling all night when the incident occurred. Police located “a needle, a crack pipe and a white substance that was in a pill bottle,” at the scene, AL.com reports. The substance was later identified as crack cocaine, authorities said.
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, a spinoff of Toddlers and Tiaras on TLC, ran for four seasons until 2014. It was canceled after Shannon’s then-boyfriend, Mark Anthony McDaniel, was revealed to be a convicted child molester.
Shannon then appeared on the reality show, Mama June: From Not to Hot, currently in its third season, which documents Shannon’s life after losing 300lbs via weight loss surgery.
No word yet on the show’s fate with the network. Shannon has also not yet commented on the news of her arrest.
