What Is J.K. Rowling Trying To Tell ‘Harry Potter’ Fans With This Tweet?
For the first time in nearly eight months, J.K. Rowling tweeted. Now, this would be exciting for Potterheads no matter what she wrote, but her cryptic message has fans going crazy. Was Rowling teasing a new Harry Potter movie? Or, was this mysterious tweet something else?
“Sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places,” she tweeted on Thursday (Sept. 5) alongside a spooky black and white logo. She hashtagged the tweet #HarryPotter and #CursedChild, the name of the two-part play based on a Rowling story that focuses on an all-grown-up Harry and his Hogwarts-aged son.

Fans immediately started going crazy over the possibility of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child coming to the big screen, but now they have some real answers. Unfortunately, it’s not a new movie, just a new logo, and tagline for the play, which is currently on Broadway.
Something fans who follow Pottermore, the ultimate Harry Potter fansite already knew. “There is something exciting coming later on from @CursedChildNYC, but it’s not a movie…” they warned before Rowling’s cryptic tweet revealing the darker logo that teases Voldemort still has a hold on the Potter family.
Of course, you can’t blame fans for getting their hopes up. For now, there are no plans for a movie, but let’s hope Rowling works her magic to make that happen sooner rather than later.
