Update On Nance Cove on Mountain Island Lake
According to Charlotte Mecklenburg Storm Water Services, the no swimming advisory has been lifted for Nance Cove on Mountain Island Lake. This advisory was issued on October. 8, 2019 following the discharge of untreated sewage to Nance Cove on Mountain Island Lake.
The discharge was caused by a blockage in Charlotte Water’s sewer line located at 3451 Rocky Branch Drive in Charlotte, NC. The blockage was removed, and the discharge stopped on October. 8, 2019. the water samples collected by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services’ staff reveal that bacteria counts are within safe limits. It is now safe to swim.
