Sacha Baron Cohen Roasts Mark Zuckerberg At The 2020 Golden Globes
Sacha Baron Cohen didn’t take home an award at the Golden Globes, but he might have been the night’s biggest winner. It’s all thanks to a joke aimed at Mark Zuckerberg.
It unexpectedly came when he took the stage to introduce Jojo Rabbit, a nominee for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy. “This film is about a child who spreads Nazi propaganda and only has imaginary friends,” Baron Cohen said. “His name is Mark Zuckerberg.”
While the crowd laughed, a straight-faced Baron Cohen said that the copy was just leftover from the year Social Network, an actual movie about Zuckerberg, was nominated.
This isn’t the first time Baron Cohen has poked fun at the creator of Facebook. Back in November, while accepting the International Leadership Award at the Anti-Defamation League’s Never Is Now summit on anti-Semitism and hate, Cohen attributed what is going on now to social media.
“All this hate and violence is being facilitated by a handful of internet companies that amount to the greatest propaganda machine in history,” he said. “It’s like we’re living in the Roman Empire, and Mark Zuckerberg is Caesar. At least that would explain his haircut.”
WHOA.... this moment.
