North Carolina Boy Holds Prom For His Babysitter
COVID-19 may have ruined prom for the class of 2020, but one North Carolina senior was able to go to prom with the help of a 7-year-old who planned the whole thing himself. Rachel Chapman is a senior at Sanderson High School in Raleigh and her prom was canceled due to the pandemic. Rachel already had her prom dress, and with the help of a young man, she was able to wear it!
Curtis Rogers is 7 years-old and Rachel is his babysitter. He hasn’t seen her in over two months because of the coronavirus, and he wanted to do something nice for her so he decided to her a prom.
With the help of his mom, Curtis planned the whole prom out. He wanted to make sure that everything was perfect! He even got a bow tie to match Rachel’s prom dress. Curtis had a table set outside in his back yard for dinner, using a pool noodle to make sure they were 6 feet apart and he made sure their favorite after school snack, peanut butter, and apples, was served as their appetizer. How cute!
For dinner, the two dined on Chic-Fil-A and tropical smoothies. Rachel says that Curtis made sure all her favorite foods were available, and he even had her favorite condiments. Curtis even put a vase full of flowers on the table as a centerpiece. After dinner, the two danced the night away….or at least till it was Curtis’s bedtime! This story just warmed my heart. This young man wanted to make sure that his babysitter felt special. No question that this was a night of fun the two will always remember.
