New Study Lists The Happiest Songs Ever And I’m Kinda Shocked
There’s some info out about the happiest songs of all time and I was kinda shocked about what was on the list. Oddly, Pharrell’s “Happy” isn’t in the top 10.
Right now, we could ALL use some happy so if you’re feeling down, anxious or depressed, you may wanna turn one of these tunes up to 11….cause it’s one louder!
The survey was made of people aged 30 to 55 and they definitely brought their biases to the study. Researchers found 58% of adults said the songs which made them the happiest were the ones released when they were a kid. So when you’re checking out the list of the happiest songs of all time, don’t be surprised when it’s mostly the biggest songs of the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
Still, I found the list interesting. There are a few songs in the top 10 that I get, but some I don’t. I guess it really just depends on the genre you love and when you grew up.
ELO’s “Mr. Blue Sky” was number one on the list. I had to Google it and hear it before I knew which tune it was. It’s not a bad tune but it definitely wouldn’t be a tune in my top 10. If you aren’t familiar with it, check it out!
The rest of the songs I get. I think working in radio skews my view though. I hear most of the songs on the list a LOT! LOL! When looking at the top 50, I see songs that I’d move up in my list. That’s one of the amazing things about music…..it affects all of us differently. It invokes memories of happier times and nostalgia makes our brains happy!
