Carolina Streamer Spotlight: Meet Terry “AstroBilly” Moore
Video games are all the rage, so we decided to shed some light on local video game streamers in the Carolinas. This week, we had the chance to sit down with local community game streamer, Terry “AstroBilly” Moore, and ask him about being part of the game stream community!
How did you get into streaming? What was the original goal?
I got into streaming to create a community that’s centered around Mental Illness and bringing awareness to it. I am very open with my entire community about what I deal with mentally and my community is welcoming to all and I want to get this to the point where we can blow this up! Gaming to an extent saved my life and I wanted to share that with everyone and prove that it can be a positive outlet for people.
What’s been your best moment as a streamer?
The best moment as a streamer is just the amount of people who tell me that they enjoy me and my content. Seeing someone return to your stream is one of the most satisfying things out there!
What games speak to you?
I love shooters. Just the style of game I have always been good at it. Most of these games have plenty of ways that allow us to interact with our stream as well.
How do you like connecting with your audience? What tool do you use most (chat, Twitter, Discord, etc.?)
I like to talk and communicate with my audience by using Twitter and Discord for sure! (Chat with me while I am live!)
If your fans were only going to take one message away from watching you, what would you want that to be?
If my fans could take one message from my live streams, I would say laugh more and worry less.
What advice would you give to aspiring streamers?
The biggest advice I would give to aspiring streamers is don’t let the grind discourage you. There will be days that you stream to NO ONE! Treat it just as you would if thousands were watching!
What’s been one of the biggest surprises that you never thought of going into
streaming?
Content creation is hard. Tip of the hat to those who have and want to make it in this industry!
