Wearing Purple During World Pancreatic Cancer Awareness
We’re all on a hunt for something purple to wear on November 19th because it’s World Pancreatic Cancer Day, but you have the entire month to show off your purple. Have you found something yet? There’s so many hues of purples for the picking if you can find something. There are red-purples that are warm purples, and blue-purples that are cool purples. I just want something to wear that screams PURPLE! Purple earrings, shoes, boots, dresses, pants and tights. Let me know where they have a huge selection of purple clothing so we all can be on top of our game for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, virtual celebrations!
Keep an eye on Charlotte Pancreatic Cancer Alliance for virtual events and show some PURPLE love to Charlotte Pancreatic Cancer Alliance on Instagram because they align and support some of the most respected pancreatic cancer organizations locally, regionally and nationally. You can connect on all of their social media handles at: Facebook, Instagram , LinkedIn and Twitter.
About Pancreatic Cancer: This type of cancer begins in the organ lying behind the lower part of the stomach, called the pancreas, and the job to the pancreas secretes enzymes that aid digestion and hormones that help to regulate the metabolism of sugars. If you know someone who has had this type of cancer, you know that this type of cancer is hard to detect, and it spreads rapidly. As far as symptoms, those are even hard to nail down, and patients find out in late stages of pancreatic cancer. Some patients will lose weight because of lack of appetite and other factors. New treatments may include surgically removing the pancreas, radiation, and chemotherapy.
